TWO-FOR-ONE TICKET OFFER for Thursday, April 9th performance of EL GRITO DEL BRONX (Oregonian review here) at Miracle Theatre. Receive two tickets for the price of one ($20 plus handling) when you use coupon code JUEVES to purchase tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance, Thursday, April 9 from http://www.pdxtix.net/milagro.

Presented in English, EL GRITO DEL BRONX is an electrifying story that will remind you of the power and immediacy of theatre to grab hold of your emotions and take you on a journey far away from the here and now.

The play opens on Lulu’s wedding day. She stands tall in her beautiful gown, gazing into the mirror. But she cannot look beyond the reflection of her youth and the violent legacy of her brother Papo. Her memories race from childhood to death row, from murder to redemption. EL GRITO DEL BRONX is a shout out to hope that asks: How can we face the future if we can’t release our ties to the past?

Miracle Theatre Group will be offering a discounted preview performance of EL GRITO DEL BRONX at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 2 at the Milagro Theatre (525 SE Stark St., Portland). All tickets are only $14 (that's a savings of up to $8 off regular tix). Tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance (with a small handling fee) from either 503-236-7253 or www.milagro.org.

What's a preview? Well, it is a full production, but it's also kind of like the final dress rehearsal -- it's our chance to perform to an audience and get your reaction before we actually freeze the show and put it before the critics. You're the first to see the show and anything can happen.

Presented in English, EL GRITO DEL BRONX is an electrifying story that will
remind you of the power and immediacy of theatre to grab hold of your
emotions and take you on a journey far away from the humdrum here and now.
The play opens on Lulu?s wedding day. She stands tall in her beautiful gown,
gazing into the mirror. But she cannot look beyond the reflection of her
youth and the violent legacy of her brother Papo. Her memories race from
childhood to death row, from white dresses to orange jumpsuits, from murder
to redemption. EL GRITO DEL BRONX is a shocking, shout out to hope that
asks: How can we face the future if we can?t release our ties to the past?
EL GRITO DEL BRONX is an escape you won?t soon forget ? and one you?ll be
talking about for weeks to come.

Please note: This play contains intense language, violence and adult situations; recommended for mature audiences.

Local company Point West Credit Union recently launched a fun micro-site at www.sendbrowniepoints.com that lets you send “brownie points” to your friends to give them props for when they do something smart.

* Both sender and receiver of the brownie points gets a coupon for an awesome FREE brownie from local bakery Helen Bernhard's on NE Broadway.

*The credit union created the site because its new checking account, Points Checking, is a more financially savvy alternative to all the high-interest checking accounts other banks have now, and maximizes the member's financial potential.

Check it out (and grab yourself a free brownie!)

"In this week's paper Safeway circular (1/14-1/20), there is a coupon for 1 free tall tea drink (up to $3.50 in value) at the in-store Starbucks. They are doing it to promote their new milk tea lattes, but I don't care for that and got a regular tea for free instead."
