Portland On The Cheap:  Contests & Giveaways

            Updated 07/07/2012

KINK FM 101.9
Register as a member of the KINK Community to access the contests and special promotions.  Once you've registered, all you'll need to do is visit the web site periodically, enter your email address and you'll be able to register for most contests with a simple one-click of the mouse.
K103 FM
In order to enter their contests, you'll first need to register a username and password to become a K103 Loyal Listener Club member.  Once you do this however, entering contests is really simple--just click on the contest, sign in your username and password and you're instantly entered for most contests.
KPTV
Also known as FOX on channel 12.  KPTV offers up a variety of contests, but on most of them you'll have to do a little more work than just entering your name and contact info.  For example, you might need to watch the news to get a clue, listen to a radio station for a song of a day, write an essay to win a prize, etc.  There are better and easier contests to enter than the sporadic ones offered by KPTV FOX 12.
Newsradio 750 KXL
On the homepage, click on the 'About Us' tab, then choose the 'Contests' tab.  They say that contests start all the time, so if there's only one contest listed, go ahead and enter it and check back a few days later for a new one.  When we did this update on 07/07/12 there were absolutely ZERO contests offered.
94/7 FM
Good stuff here, everything from gift cards to season ski passes to event tickets.  Pretty easy to enter too.  From the home page, click on the 'Contests' tab.
99.5 The Wolf The FM country station posts up a few new prizes every now and then.  The nice thing is that they only ask for a few bits of information to enter each contest.  On the home page, click on the 'Contests' tab.
104.1 The Fish
On the home page, click on the 'Contests' tab.  You'll find some contests to enter, most of which are just extensions of on-air promotions...in other words, you'll have to listen to the radio station for a certain song or phrase and then be the #__ caller to win the tickets.  We'll pass on this one.
105.1 The Buzz
On the homepage, find the 'Freeloaders' tab, then select 'Contests.'  Frequently updated with plenty of contests to enter.  The station encourages you to become a member of the 'Freeloaders,' which will allow you access for members-only contests, games, surveys and other special offers.
Oregonlive
These are online contests from the Oregonian newspaper.  Fill in your basic info for each contest and hit the submit button.  Contests are updated frequently, and you can win tickets, entries into sporting events, weekend get-aways and more.
PDX TV Cable 13
Same contests offered by KPTV FOX 12, which had virtually nothing during our July 2012 update.
TriMet Rider Rewards
Don't know too much about this one, but they say "Rider Rewards is a free email service that gives you access to valuable offers just for TriMet riders, including discounts, contests, giveaways and special events. We'll send you an email about twice a month to let you know about the latest offers."  We signed up so we'll see how it goes!

Admin note:  looks like TriMet gave up on this idea.  We never received anything, and during our July 2012 update it appeared that the agency had erased everything about this program from its web site.
Willamette Week
The weekly newspaper offers up a few new prizes each week, everything from DVD's to movie screenings to tickets for theater, comedy and events.  On the home page, find and click on 'WW Presents,' then click on 'Free Stuff & Concerts.'
Z100
Go to the web site to create a username and password for yourself.  Then, you'll be able to view the contests and submit your entry with one click.  CD's, DVD's, gift certificates, tickets, cash and more can be yours.  Frequently updated.
